As a Town Chairman, I can tell you the best way to fight local bans is to get involved in the local government. Know your representative in local government. Learn who your State Senator and State Representative is. I have worked in our state to develop political contacts to represent the sport fishing community. I am going to those same contacts about this issue now. But everyone needs to get involved. Get to know who their aides are, they are the ones usually set the agenda, anyway. Don't just rely on the NRA. A lot of congressmen and representatives will not listen to theNRA, but if you are a constituent, they will listen to you, especially if you are reasonable. Mayors, City Council, all of them need to know how YOU feel.VTIT wrote: I am not sure if the NRA has the pull to fight on this many fronts at once. Also constitutinality doesn't really matter. Until someone is arrested, fined, or taken to court and fights the constitutionality of a law they can threaten with it all they want. Someone has to challenge it. Can the NRA fight 50 individual battles at once?
Making these bans at the local, county or state level is going to make it that much harder to fight.
