Age happens, bro. :rotfl:I don't remember much, but I think some where in between "I love you buddy" and "lets start a bar fight" we had convinced ourselves that we single handedly stabilized all of anbar province. I can not hold my liquor like I used too.
Not quite. Each battalion has it's own "personality," if you will, because all three are geographically separated from one another. The BIG difference is "Ranger Qualified" and "Assigned to Ranger Battalion." I was tabbed (Class #06-94), but I never served in a Ranger Battalion. As a bro that was in Battalion once told me, "Bein' tabbed is one thing, but Ranger Battalion is a way of life."A guy claimed to be a former Ranger. The firearms instructor was a former Ranger Medic. I guess there are different Battalions of Rangers like there are Teams of Seals.

Some of these guys in the bar may have been part of my inspiration to be a Ranger, short of that I agree with your assessment's dead on.txlongshotb4 wrote: There is a very small percentage of folks that have really done any of it and are willing too talk about it. Most of them will only talk about it to those they trust and under certain circumstances, and then there are those who simply won't go there at all. One common thread that I have observed with almost all of them however, is that they usually aren't found working the loading docks at Wal Mart or doing oil changes at Jiffy Lube...most of the special ops type guys-by virtue of their very personality-are geared towards bigger things and beyond average levels of success...so when I meet the guy at the bar who comes in every day and gets falling down drunk, and everyone there knows about his glory days in the SEAL teams...my warning buzzers go off.

-agree: Of course everyone knows that 1stBN leads the way! :usa:
I have a couple of miltary prints in my office as well as my Division mini-shrine (5 times a day, I roll out my woobie, face Fort Bragg, kneel and pray.) Some of my clients notice these things and spin some pretty incredible stories about their wartime experiences. One fellow claimed to be a Viet Nam POW.One common thread that I have observed with almost all of them however, is that they usually aren't found working the loading docks at Wal Mart or doing oil changes at Jiffy Lube
