Have you noticed any improvements to the site speed?

If you could please provide as much information as you can, such as approximately how long it took for the page to load, any "Waiting for..." messages at the bottom of your web browser or any hang ups that you experienced.

Several changes were made that should help the site load faster. It is not the internet connection speed that is to blame, it is too much load on the server so I've been trimming down the amount of queries to the database and disabling some of the features that are not often used.

Takes me anywhere from 10 to 25 seconds to load a new page on the site. This includes selecting a topic, selecting the reply button, or even selecting the back button.

I'm testing from work and they have the super fast connection speed here.

Speed has improved alot, but its still slower than most of the other web sites I use. Still a great site.

Thanks for the replies!

Been cutting more and more 'fat' from the site to try and make it load faster.

Basically what is happening is everytime the page loads it is making 90 queries to the server. If there is a 1/4 second lag between queries then that is over 20 seconds ... so the more queries I can cut the faster it will load.

To everyone reading this please keep me informed on if you think it is speeding up or slowing down!

Seems to be about 5 times faster. Used to take about 20 seconds to log on and for the page to open. Today, it took about 5 seconds using a Cable modem.

It took about 10 seconds for this reply to load and 13 seconds for the edit to load.

I too have noticed a increase in speed on "loading" time.........I can load multiple pages much easier than before...getting better...;)
