Got to agree with Just Me on the tats, it's like putting a bumper sticker on a Lamborgini. But for a woman who can tote that rifle around the jungle I'd have to make an exception.
Your view and opinions of tattoos are your own. They do not "telegraph bad messages to most people of murder, anti-social behavior, etc. and especially the black prison tattoos shout lawlessness." Those are just your own fears and prejudices. Tattoos have always been a part of the warrior/fighting class and the oldest intact bodies found have been tattooed, from 'Otzi" the man found in the mountains of Italy with the bronze axe and arrow in his back to the Chinese noble woman found buried with her gold and horses. Our own Sailors and Marines have been tattooed since our country's inception and even Marine General James 'Mad Dog' Mattis wears a tattooed sleeve. You Have a problem with tattoos but it is 'Your' problem, so deal with it.
Just a discussion, boils down to personal preference.
I think that they can also be used as a medical treatment for pain in some cases, just like acupunture. Even the frozen hunter gatherer they found on the top of some mountain had tatoo's (Otis I'm guessing) that they think were for this reason.
Now lets all play nice :usa:
