Last fall, I mounted a Bushnell red dot on a Banjamin NP .177 pellet rifle and used it to squirrell hunt. It worked fine on squirrels and I killed a starling with it at 40 yds.
I picked up the gun again last week when the starlings were getting in the kennel to eat my dogs' food because of the snow covering their normal food source. I picked out a starling 10 yards away on a limb with the snow as a back drop. My red dot immediately disappeared. The bright snow completely obliterated my red dot, even on the highest setting. That made my gun totally unusable in the snow. The Bushnell is now back on a shelf. Very disappointing.
Is the battery any good? I had issues with battery life and cold weather but once they sent me a new sight it worked fine. Shot it in the snow this winter and had no problem????
Guess I should ask which one? I have the TRS-25.
