So how about it. Is there a scope that will preform out to 600 to 800 yards for around $500. Or am I chasing a ghost. Someone please help me. I just got into an AR 10 and would like to shoot at about 600 yards with some consistency and I'm not aposed to upgrading in the future but with all the up front spending it's getting tight. So again $500 what would you get and why?
Thanks for any help. ~ Gary
It depends on what features you consider must have and nice to have. Vortex makes a good variable mag scope at that price point. For fixed mag, I'd look real hard at SWFA's house brand, Super Sniper. BTW, how much money are you allocating for the mount/rings?

You might look at this...I used one on the AR-50 and it worked great..it was a 16x
these are fixed powered scopes and a bit heavy...but your price range don't leave much room...for features...

I'm looking for a scope to be used on a DMR build. I already have an M4 with an Aimpoint 3x and an Aimpoint M4.
Do I need a variable? Or can I go with a fixed 10x?
That is up to you...the down side of a fixed power is close range..if you go that route...make sure it has a Adjustable Objective or Paraplex so you can focus on objects at different ranges...
Personally...I like the variable powered scopes....
