If there's any interest, I'll put together a pictorial of our complete .308 cartridge prep for our 1,000 yarder AR10. It took a year and a half to arrive at the absolute correct formula for this rifle. We'll be trying it on our other AR10's shortly. I don't want to compose all of this unless there's actually an interest.
Yes, this one is a Walther Naval Contract barrel, 17-4 S/S Electropolished, internally tapered with a 1-10ROT, and this particular data will utilize a 175gr SMK, but the projectile and case prep will apply to any projectile weight.
This will take me a bit to put together, but I already have all of the photography and copy. I just have to arrange it in the right sequence and make sure it's all very clear.
Thanks!
Ok. It's going to take a few days. I'll begin assembling it all by tomorrow. I'm sure its going to help a lot of you squeeze that last ounce of accuracy out of your rifle, and I hope you're patient reloaders.
Should be together and ready to post by tomorrow morning. I'd forgotten how many photos were necessary! I seem to have everythng but time these days, but I'll make time for this one. I've been meaning to put this together for some time anyway.
I'm including two other processes with the whole thing. Moly and hBN impact coating as well. The Moly one might seem like old hat, but we have a newer approach that might surprise you. hBN is a given for literally everything in the armoury with the exception of one rifle.
