Ok, a quick question on lubing....a friend of mine is using the RCBS X dies, he got a case stuck and sent it in, the factory told him it was because of the "one shot" lube....anyone else use it or have had any problems with Hornady's One Shot....the reason for asking, I bought a can a couple of weeks ago, haven't used it yet just for that reason, am thinking about using it for my pistol dies....45 ACP.
Reloading my .308 I am using the Lee Lube...works great, abit messy but Oh Well...
Comments and thoughts please.....

I also had issues with that lube. Although my brass didn't get stuck in my RCBS die, I was afraid they would. Real tight. Went back to the old pad and lube that was supplied with the reload kit Everythings fine now. Making sure not to get the lube on case shoulder or neck. That might have been the problem with the spray. Getting it all over the the case might have caused that hydraulic effect I've read about. It did stress the brass at the shoulder. I tossed a couple cases because of it. What a shame too. I thought the stuff would save lots of time in the lube part of the process. Also, u mentioned using it with ur 45. I load 44 mag and if u have carbide dies for those straight wall cases, lubing isn't necessary. Check into it. I never lube mine and have no problems.

Yes, I have had some serious problems with One Shot on .223 cases. My vocabulary increased three fold in less than an hour the last time that I used it.
It is funny, I know a few guys that swear by the stuff, that is why I bought some....Now, what to do with it....I would really hate to get a case stuck, given the Lee dies, I can get the case out, but I am not sure if I should give it a try or not..Hey, does it work for anything else...LOL
I have used it for over a year and have had absolutely no problems. I completely cover the case using a lubing stand that I built specifically for this purpose. The rack allows all four sides and 99% off the case to be exposed to the spray. Be sure to lube the inside neck as well, I use a .308 bore mop sprayed lightly with One Shot. Also be sure and allow time for the One Shot to briefly dry. Sorry you had trouble. I've loaded a couple of thousand .308's and .223's with One shot with no problems and really like the performance and lack of mess. RomanIV
Maybe it's a problem with certain dies. Mine are the small base, RCBS 308. I like the idea of using it on the inside case neck. And I will try again when it's time to reload some 30-06
Well I guess my next time around on the press with the .308s, I will have to give it a try....I will use the Federal Brass so if I screw some up, I don't waste the good stuff....
I've been using RCBS's original case lube that I bought in the late 70's. It's quite thick & sticky and the only thing I've found that cleans it off is toluene. That said, it works great! I'm sizing military range pick-up Lake City brass, (machine gun fodder) with out issue on an RCBS junior press (no compound leverage) with this lube. I understand that RCBS's case lube II is water soluble. Does any body know if it works as well as their original? Also, has anybody used Redding's case lube, the one they sell for pad use? I like my original RCBS lube and actually leave a film of it on my cases to ease extraction like MSH suggested for the AR-10s, so I'd like to duplicate it if I could. I can see where STP should work but my pad is already saturated with the RCBS lube so I'd like to find something compatible. Maybe some of my fellow old farts can answer this for me.
