I can't remember, have you put the riffle in a machine rest and shot it? That would tell you if it was you or the scope, or the rifle.

I usually have one flyer myself. Not just with my AR-10 though so I'm pretty sure it is me, I tend to rush things.
I've been surprised at how much difference handloads make. I can't get a decent group out of 175 SMK's in any factory match ammo. I had figured my rifle didn't like the bullet but almost every handload with the same bullet cut those groups in half or better. Wish I had more time to load, and shoot for that matter! :usa:
I finally acquired some FGMM in 168 gr and it shot worse than any of my loads, and no, I haven't shot from a machine rest. I guess that would solve the user error part of the problem.

Good luck, I would try to get it on a machine rest. If it is still shooting bad, think about getting a new barrel/chamber..
It could be something as simple as a defective scope. Do you have another scope or iron sights you can try?
bipe215 wrote: Glad you found something that worked. I've never gotten there with my T. Best group is 1 5/8" with 168 gr SMK, 4895 and LC brass. I can actually shoot a tighter group with my M16 using iron sights than my T with a scope. It's very discouraging. My chamber is a little deep so I can't get close to the lands at 2.80. I thought about returning it to Armalite but technically I've violated the warranty by using reloads.

I doubt it would be an issue. If you broke something shooting reloads then maybe but if you haven't eroded the throat with hot loads I don't see them balking on the warranty. Just don't mention it!

I can try a different scope. Hadn't thought of that. Thanks.

bipe215, did you ever get your accuracy issue straightened out?
