I actually found a period belt buckle just like the NRA handed out when I was a kid. I think it was the NRA but I guess it could have been from another company that was supporting membership. Never shy from discussing these issues with people on the street, as Barry Goldwater said " Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice."

Remember the riots in London England a while back this summer? The law abiding citizens of the U.K. had their guns taken away from them not too many years ago. :( Things would have been different in the London riots if the shopowners still had their firearms.

"[W]hen the resolution of enslaving America was formed in Great Britain, the British Parliament was advised by an artful man, who was governor of Pennsylvania, to disarm the people; that it was the best and most effectual way to enslave them; but that they should not do it openly, but weaken them over time, and let them sink gradually." --George Mason

As an aside, I find the host of the first video generally about as trustworthy as Al Gore.

In truth this reporting is nothing new. Certain constituents needed for home-built hobby rocket motors have standing "requests" to suppliers to report who buys them if they are not known farmers etc.

I do agree this needs to be addressed. I know they want to try and catch the terrorists and gangsters that are likely to buy more than one weapon at a time if they can, and they'll want to cross check those purchases with other "suspicious activity" lists to see if they can get a match on someone who has otherwise done nothing wrong, but in their database is profiled as a threat (the Chos, Hasans, and Loughners for example (and of course I'd point out they all used pistols anyway)). Whether or not that approach will actually work is in some doubt I'd say, but I believe that's the motivation (and no, I don't believe there is a sinister cabal of "Illuminati" carefully orchestrating the downfall of America, I believe the apathy and failure to comprehend the difference between "good" and "evil" that comes with the "modern"/"progressive" mindset can accomplish it quite on it's own. I also believe we went to the moon, the contrails people see in the sky are generally just water vapor, the pictures I have of the engines and landing gear inside the pentagon ARE genuine, and fluoride is not a global communist conspiracy to "sap and impurify our precious bodily fluids")

As discussed, the real problem and worrisome consequence is that persons who have done and are doing nothing wrong end up on a list somewhere, and we've seen how fun that is for people who randomly ended up on the TSA watch list simply because their name matched some list somewhere. We must support legislation and litigation that reigns in these arbitrary lists, and the painting of persons merely exercising their human and civil rights (rights to self defense, and rights to acquire the means there to) as potential criminals.

Ok I'd like to throw in my 2 cents here.
It is not about us as in the general public getting laws passed to stop the elected officals from taking our guns and other freedoms from us, but we need to elect poeple that will lisstin to us and do as we ask. I don't see why we as a people can not insit that we have term limits on both houses, and that not one of either house be allowed to talk with a lobbyist behind closed doors. I just never hear of anyone starting a movement for term limits without it getting poopoo right away.

I don't know who the guy in the video is and don't really care, what I do care about is the fact that we on here have to remine each other to be careful what we say and who hears us? That gentlemen is not what I spent 20 years of my life defending.
