Another AR-15 was created by Ranchwagon
I got an email promo from Ruger, introducing their new AR556.

Not to be confused with the SR556, the new AR556 is a lower cost direct impingement firearm. For some reason I cannot post a link but I suspect it is on the main Ruger site or at least within the next few days.

It has a much lower price point at $749.00. My guess is they see they are missing out on the cheapest price segment as the SR556 retails for hundreds more.
