Hello everyone, I am a new member. I did some googling on this gun and came across this site so I joined.

I was googling about the gun package bc I just purchased it! I thought the price was extremely high until the other day WM had them on sale.. pretty low.. needless to say I purchased the Blackhawk Package way below the 1699 so I feel it was an pretty good buy.

A ton of stuff comes with it, rounds, sling, military compass, etc.. and the Pelican case is really nice! It is listed as an LE6920HAWK-FDE M4 Carbine.

I was in a Walmart yesterday, and they have the Colt Blackhawk Survival Carbine 5.56 on clearance for $997 (regularly $1699)

Is this as good of a deal as it looks?

Also, they have the Colt LE 6920 Socom Carbine 5.56 on clearance for the same price ($997 regularly $1499).

Which is the better deal, or would I be better off building something?

I realize there are probably going to be a lot of responses beginning with "that depends", but I was able to get them to hold one for me because there was no one in the store qualified to do a firearms sale at the time...

unless this is one of those deals that just can't be passed up...

I was getting ready to add a Glock 27 to my collection when I saw this, so would appreciate the opinion of those of you more experienced with AR-15's - I'm more of a pistol guy.

IMO, those are good deals for 5.56, especially if they come with a bunch of extras. Below is a good deal link for Armalite weapons.

Yes they are. They are out of the other model AR10T carbine that I got.
