I'm thinking of trying to put my own rifle together.I have some gunsmithing experience but not with the AR platforms. While looking for parts I got an interesting response about whether a certain receiver would fit the bill for me;
"I am a gunsmith, and I have built my most resent ar 10 with this upper if you would like to see a picture of the one i used wich is the same as the one i am selling please send me your email and i will send you the pic. the ar 10 bolt fits perfectly into this upper and what alot of people do not know is that you can fit 308 rounds into a 5.56 mm 30rd mag perfectly"
I never heard of using 5.56 magazines for .308, is this all hot air as I suspect? I'll post a picture if he sends it. Here is a link to the part.

Yep, several shovels full.

Ask for a pic of the .308 ammo in the AR15 mag. I'd love to see that. better yet, a video of him firing it that way.
