I have a basic Armalite flat top and have been thrilled with it. It doesn't seem to care who is shooting it or what it is shooting(within reason)it hits what you point it at. I paid $1250 for it but I don't think he made much on the gun, he knew I'd be back again and again for ammo!
Hard to beat the way Armalite backs them for life as well. From what I've seen so far they are not going to go broke fixing stuff, a very solid built rifle.
Untill I got this AR-10 I wouldn't have considered something like this for varmit hunting but I've done a 180 now, why should I use anything else! Good luck and enjoy whatever you decide to get!

+1. My first was an A4BF. I think it was $1235 plus $25 for the transfer. It's a lovely rifle.

I'm an Armalite owner as well and have nothing but good things to say about their products and CS. However, given your budget, I'd also look at the Bushmaster .308 ORC. The ORC seems a bit better made and has had fewer issues than their 5.56 rifles.

I've heard tales, but nothing happened on my watch ;) .

AR stands for Armalite. Add 50 bucks and get the real thing.

Sweet man thanks... I def wanna get something with a bull barrel... I will be bench shooting mostly and varmint hunting when i get the chance... I have a 223 that get the job done but i just cant stand someone shooting a better group than me at the range so i want a tack driver... B)

The AR10TBNF with bipod would be my choice. Then there is their AR10TBNF in 260 cal. Both are tack drivers, but well over your budget. But think like a politician and don't worry about budgets!Otherwise, I'm with Lebben on the Bushmaster. Then you gotta find a good scope to get the most out of that gun. And then you need...It never ends.

Ya i know what you mean... just talked to a buddy that wants to buy my bushmaster... if he comes through with the cash then i will just throw that cash at an armalite or something like that... and all the goodies of course... If he dont come through with the cash i guess my best bet is waiting a month or so and saving some more pennies
