I looked in the archives, and couldn't find an answer.
Do I need a flash suppressor? My AR10T came without one. Beings that it disn't have one from the factory, would it help to get one or not? It has the 20" stainless barrel.

Thanks

You don't need one. Flash suppressor is a tactical item, good for hiding your location when shooting.

More of a looks thing, believe the cool kids are calling it tacticool...

Besides, your barrel isn't currently threaded.

Flash suppressors are optional. It's a matter of personal taste for the most part. However, I still prefer to have a threaded muzzle mostly because I'm a sound suppressor junkie, and secondly because you never know when something silly like threaded muzzles will become a "ban" feature.

For me, everything gets threaded.

I use a compensator which definitely reduces felt recoil, though it does make the gun louder (you can see it venting in my profile pic). For general sport shooting I don't see a real need for a flash suppressor. I agree with 12Fcolt, If I had a 20" barrel like that I'd have it configured for a can.
