i have 2 ar10s from armalite, one thats 6 years old. the older one has a huge wear mark in the upper from the camming pin. the bolt is starting to become stiff to cycle by hand, called armalite and they clam thats normal wear. is that true? i have around a total of 4000ish rounds through my rifle and a new barrel a 1000 ago. so whats the deal???
I just received a brand new Bolt and carrier group from Armalite.
I can't even get the Cam Pin out of it.
Yeah, I never had any difficulties with any of my AR-15 Bolts, so what gives?
It simply can't get past the gas key.
Any suggestions?
Put a couple of drops of oil on the cam pin and the carrier key. Then push the bolt to the rear of the carrier. While lifting up on the cam pin, slowly pull the bolt forward. There's probably a "sweet spot" along the carrier key that will allow you to remove the cam pin.
