Hello All, I've had my AR for a few years now. It has a 20" stainless bull barrel with a muzzle break. I haven't touched it yet but I picked up a 2 piece quad rail and I can't get the receiver end to close. It looks like the gas tube is positioned on one of the tangs on the barrel nut, not in the notch. I picked up a multi tool to turn the nut but man, is it tight. Is there a lock pin holding it or not? Any info would be helpfull.
I can't help you with the question you have as I don't really understand the problem. Maybe post a picture and restate the problem in the AR-10 thread below.
Thanks Featherblue, I'll see if I can get a shot of it to post. I think the gas tube is being held out away from the barrel because it's on the tang not in the notch.
