Has anyone used the I-phone ballistics apps? If so what do you think of them? I was looking at them but wanted to see what people thought of them before I bought them.
Both are very good apps and both also have three different versions depending on how robust you need them to be. I found that the Military/ Tactical editions were too robust for what I wanted to use them for. There are also apps available for android phones and Palm / Windows Mobile devices. I have since found an app for my new android powered phone that is simple and FREE. It looks and feels like the Ballistic App though you have to input bullet info everytime, it does not save it.
I keep wanting to get an iPod touch just so I can go back to using
Ballistic
. I really like being able to load the local weather data automatically based on my location. It works well enough for the shooting I am doing.
However, if you are using an iPhone I strongly suggest you check out the two above. The only thing they can't do is range the target and squeeze the trigger!
Thanks. I have seen Ballistic: Field Tactical Edition but not the other one. The other app I saw and looked at was the MD Ballistics. It seems a little more easier for me to use and I can get the current weather data as well. I looked at the websites for BFTE and MDB, MDB has a full on user manual which I like incase I have questions and the BFTE does not. I guess its just more of a personal preference at this point. Appreciate the help!
