New to the forum and AR10 platform, having just picked up a Magnum marked stripped lower and LPK. I'm looking to build up a longrange hunting and target rifle for competition. On the fence whether to go with .308, .338 Fed of possibly .300WSAUM. I linke the configuration of the Canadian SASS rifles that 7.62SASS has advertised, but wanted to see everyones opinion. Also, do I need an upper with forward assist or just go with one with out. I've seen uppers w/o as low as $115, so I figure if I dont need the forward assist, I'd rather save the case and get the Armalite free float forearm with the adjustable gas system. I have a RRA 2 stage mathch trigger that I will be using in the rifle, and also plan on getting a Magpul adjustable stock. As for twist, I know that 1:10 seems to be the going preference, but have also seen the 1:11.25 which I am considering.
On the caliber...that is going to depend on you really....I chose the .308 because of the different amount of ammo available and also the availability of of it...and cost as well....
It seems you have your parts list well in hand...as someone else said in another thread...."take your time" and choose your parts "wisely"...I have seen to many guys "build" an AR weather it be a 10 or 15 and have nothing but issues with it...
Make sure the parts you are going to use are backed up by the manufacturers and are all able to be integrated without issues...
Not much help but about all I can offer at this time....
Welcome to the site.

Thanks for the advice. I definately plan on taking my time since forking over all the cash in one sitting for all the parts is not something I am looking to do.
Any recommendations on barrel twist? I know 1:10 seems to be what is popular but any other twisits to maximize accuracy at long distances?
