Ok I got a ar10 end of last summer and only have shot at parents around 50 yards looking at rifle ranges in wisconsin but honestly have no idea how far a armalite ar 10 carbine can shoot I'm no sharp shooter but like i said I'd like to shoot far as possible can I shoot 200 yards max? 300 yards? Like I said really I'd like to shoot far but don't want to go out of my way looking for the longest rifle range just to find out I can't hit anything that far away.So if anyone can help I thank you.
A .308 AR10 Carbine with a 16" barrel is effectively a 600 yard gun. You can shoot further than that with it, but your hold over would be prohibitively large.
I agree with LebbenB. I have a range where I can shoot up to 800 yd, but since I am primarily a hunter, not a target shooter, I rarely practice beyond 200 yd. For me looking at the targets I shoot at 400 yd or further make me depressed, so I don't go there very often.
Wow I had no idea thanks guys I'm sure glad I found this site hard for a person new to this to find any info online so thanks for your time Im sure once it warms up I'll have more questions.
