I NEED SOME ADVICE. I JUST TRADED FOR A NEW DPMS LR-308T. I PLAN TO USE IT FOR DEER HUNTING AND TARGET FUN. WHAT AMMO WOULD YOU SUGGEST FOR THIS RIFLE? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

I love winchester ballistic silvertips

It might be just that my barrel likes them best but they shoot better out of it than BTHP match ammo.

I would just shoot a box of everything you can get your hands on and see what works best for your rifle. For whitetail deer a good shot from a .308 win will always bring them down.

I've never shot a whitetail that took more than one step.

JLD...Welcome to the site...
As for the ammo question....I like Hornady A-Max 168gr for my precision shooting, but just for "hole making" or milk jug termination....I use the Federal Power Shock 150 gr SP...or the Ultramax 168 BTHHP....plus my own reloads...The Federal has good brass for reloading "plinking" and "Zombie" ammo....
