Now Edge...admit it...it's Armalite....what else...
If money is no object...I think this came up before...
Then A custom gun is what you would want...
Such as a GAP or a Stewart Wilson....but you would have to wait a long time on the Wilson....With all the choices out their you have to examine WHAT YOU WANT in a gun...each has it's own pros and cons.
Some are the NORM..as far as the market, others have their own personality and the same goes with parts....Take ArmaLite...only their mags will work...and so far to date no aftermarket one are out there...Same, sort of with RRA....You have to decide on how you want to equip it as well...and of course all the normal specs, Accuracy and such...I know this is somewhat vague, but so is the question...
All in all...if it shoots and does what it is supposed to then you have a winner, no matter what you buy...but definitely look at ArmaLite...as a owner of two...I am very happy with mine and would buy one or two more...The 50 and the 30 if I had the money...
I almost forgot....Welcome to the site...
I hope this was of some help....
BMS
I own a pof and a si defense and the both shoot .5 groups at 100 with $300 scopes. si defense I have about $1500 into it but got a great deal on gun trade. POF cost $2500. Both are 20inch.
First off - it's a pleasure to be a member. Second - money is an object. However, I am very particular so quality, dependability and long range accuracy (400 - 1000 yards) are the ultimate goal. i live in Wyoming with plenty of long range opportunities. I'm on the verge of placing an order for my first AR (since my free government issue in '69). After a considerable amount of research and input from other AR owners, I've pretty much decided on the DPMS Panther LR-308. The stock trigger will have to go but other than that, I hear it's a great, out-of-the-box tack driver. As I stated earlier, money is an object and considering the scope will cost at least as much as the rifle, I'd appreciate any comments and advice before I take the plunge. Thanks.
I can't fault my 20 inch Armalite after the factory adjusted/tuned it ,in fact I a'm still giddy over the way it shoots . 1 moa with Fed Gold Match 168 SMK. 1.5 to 2 moa with surplus . This is the standard AR 10 with the Armalite FF tube and tuned trigger .
well, my personal exp is DPMS. My AP4 cost me around 900, then I turned it into a SASS which cost around..eh..so far like 350..i upgraded trigger springs and buttstock too..and since the conversion, no FTF FTE FTC , and its best grouping @ 100 yards is .43" w/ Federal Gold Match ammo 168gr and somewhere in the ball park of 2500fps. So if money is an option for you, Id do what I did,..my gun shoots amazingly.
