Well guys I'm not going to look back and find the thread but I received 2 bolt carrier assemblys and 2 new barrels this week that were Armalite factory parts. One of the bolts will not close in the barrel. I remember someone else having this problem and sending their stuff back to Armalite for repair. This is what I found, Armalite or their venders have changed the bolt. The bolt lugs had chamfers to breake the edge on the top of the lugs in the beginning but now they don't. Most likely this was a shortcut to cut machining cost and it dosen't hurt anything but new bolts and some barrels won't mate. These new bolts can be modified to fit very easy, but the way they handled one of the other members of this threads new barrel and bolt assembly I think I was right about Armalite covering up the issue and then we had one member get ill at me for sujesting as much. Well thats cool but be aware some of Armalites factory parts are not interchangeable and it has and is happening. I have collected some extra bolts and the bottom line is that they have changed. Armalite will make good on the parts if sent back, but thats not the point its having the trouble of sending these parts back and fighting with UPS, FedEx ect with the cost of these rifles. It has put me and other barrel turners in an piss poor position to the point that we can't sale drop in barrels. If someones bolt dosen't fit we all look like the dummy. I am going to send emails and drawings out to some of the other barrel makers on this mess. Being that the 110s are in heavy useage in the sandbox we are running the flag up the pole with my old eng group at post. I'm sure Armalite is aware now because I know of 3 barrel returns from shooters that have did the replacement barrel deal and one member here with this issue. Thats 4 of them now. Armalite aint going to like me taking these bolts to class, I got a feeling I'm going to be on the list again as if I care if I ever got off of it. Their past customer attitude has been something else to deal with at times and thats why I am so critical of them. I hope my attitude isn't taken wrong but dealing with them for 25 years and sr eng on this black rifle system with uncle, I think patience has been running thin at lease for me. I'm glad I'm retired now and can pass on stuff that has happened in the past but I wonder if 2min of production time is worth the cost of replacement of these parts not included is shipping. That runs the cost of the rifle up and who pays the extra. YOU DO.....MSH
Dang ol man, another burr in your butt from the home office, so to speak...LOL  It is good to know though, sometimes I wonder just how much crap these manufactures are going to let by, considering what we pay for these things, and if they where to be in the hands of the military, well it could be a tragic mistake..
I have a related question for you, what say you on the ArmaLite M-15 A4 CB, it is going to be nest on my the line up....??????
Well on the 15 they had 50yrs to screw it up. You break it I can fix it. This issue has to be an eng change or something that zero thought was put in. Maybe an engineer in the company! They had a habbit of running them off thats how Rock River got started. This was the best day we had in while so I went to the range and test fired new barrels. Those 30" Lilja barrels that I make up for F class are just the stuff. It's nice to shame a bench gun. I also notified and gave the army a hands on look at the bolt and extention mis match today so word should be getting out.MSH
