Good Morning All,
Just a quick note to say hi and introduce myself as "Hunterpappa" an old backwoods coot with a deep seated heratige in the world of hunting. I am very interested in getting into a AR10 most likely in the 300 WSM or Saum configuration. I am new to the world of black rifles but am anxious to obtain my prize soon. I will be off loading a beautiful stainless steel bull barreled remington sendero 700 (300 WIN MAG) to offset the cost of my new rifle and would appreciate any tips or thoughths before I act.
Thanks all,
hunterpappa
Hello Hunterpappa, I will be the first to welcome you to the site...I hope you will find it helpful and a fun place to be.
We have a lot of discussions going on so feel free to jump in with a comment or a question.
If I may, I am not familiar with a AR-10 in a 300 WSM, the only ones I know of are in .308 and .338 federal and the one or two smaller calibers, but that is not saying much. There are a few here that may know of a company that make them...
I believe ArmaLite offered one at one time...it might have been the 300 magnum though..you might call them to see, it might be a special order thing...
Anyway hope to see you around the boards and again welcome.
BMS...
Here is a company that lists a AR-10 in 325 WSM, it is Accuracy Systems in Colorado.

I think there is someone here that can tell you the pro's and con's about different calibers, with the experience to help you put one together. As long as you ask nice! LOL RandR
Here I is. The only thing I'm going to add is that I think you would be happier if you were to go with the 300 WSM. Its more common and easy to load for and doesn't give much up to the other choices. It's a modern race between the 30-06 and the 8mm mauser and we know who won the last race.MSH
