Just got my first semi auto on 308. Looking to learn as much as possible from the more experience shooters on the forum, both in overall gas gun techniques and reloading for them.
Being shooting my bolt gun for a while now and got interested in trying a new weapon.
Hey Bro,
Up from you in FLL. Have owned my 10T for 20 years, I think. Back when they came with 24 inch CM barrels. Decided to modify it into a SASS configuration. Cut & Crown barrel to 20 inches, thread for a CAN, and put new Armaltie Rails, and low profile adjustable gas block on it. Maybe he'll get it done by the time ATF approves my CAN.
Gunsmith is catching the devil trying to get the barrel nut off to turn the barrel. That seems to be an issue for 10T barrels, as I researched the process and others have had great difficulty getting the barrel off.
Don't know where you shoot in Mia, but Markham Park here in Broward.

Thanks for the welcome!! Have not posted to the site in a long time. I've been shooting .223 for years and my 10T has been gathering dust. Started shooting my Rem. 40X and decided to get back on the 308 train. Hence, the idea of the SASS configuration.

Site showed your post count as 1 so I figured you were new here, nobody has posted much for a good long while here. Still a ton of good info to be had though. Enjoy the new configuration!
I noticed the post were old, and was surprised. It's not as if the AR 10 is a dying breed. However, I'm also a 300 Blk fan and that, along with the 6.5 Creed is the new gun nut rage.
Fully intend to enjoy the conversion, esp. when the CAN comes in.
