Hey im from the Houston area and looking to either purchase an AR10 or build one myself. Im looking for several specific parts such as the sniper style stock with adjustable cheek rest and also a tactical grip, and a free float hand guard.

my question is if I purchase a standard ar10 is it easy to change out the grip, stock and hand guard.

thanks for the help

Grip and stock are relatively easy to replace. The hand guard will require special tools and a bit of knowledge.

Has anyone used gunsmiths to build them an AR. trying to figure out if it would be easier and cheaper to find the parts and have someone put it together or purchase and then try to change the parts myself.

If you have access to a bench vise and basic tools you are half way there.
The other tools can be bought then resold after the build is complete, that would be my suggestion. There are many good smiths out there, but there are many more hacks.

Buy the tools and build it yourself......then start planning the next build! :P
