Hello everyone. Grizgrin here, just picked up an unfired ar 10 t. Looking to get her to the range tomorrow, broke her down and cleaned her, soaked her in oil and a bit of grease on the bolt. Have a feeling I will be looking to accurize some and upgrade some parts. Hope everyone is well.
Thanks, jtallen83. I got to the range today VERY briefly. Took the scope off my 10T and got some BUIS that arent so backup right now. Troy HK on the gas block and Troy on the rear as well. Really like them. Anyway, only 25 yards so really not a lot to see. A 3 rnd group and a 10 rnd. Its a pistol lane so no elbow rest whilst the bipod is on the bench. That made my groups somewhat less than they could have been I am sure. Sights came straight out of the plastic and onto the Pic rails unadjusted of course. The 10 rnd group ate up most of about 2 square inches. Averages were .32" right, 2.6" high from POA. Standard deviations were (.46", .15"). So, about 2 inches by .6 inches at 100 yards. Not terrible for the first time I ever shot an AR10, especially considering the lack of elbow contact. Used Hornady Superformance ammo.
So, now I have a decent basis to adjust my sights from. It's a start.
Griz, As the T has a low profile gas block, is the Troy got extra height so it lines up with the rear sight on the reciever rail?
I have the "T" carbine, as well as the standard rifle. Carbine is handy, but loud! Both are very close in accuracy, but having different optics its an apples to oranges comparison. Both are definitely MOA or sub MOA capable. Currently waiting for adapters so I can mount 45 degree offset BUIS on both.
