No way would I have drawn in this situation. Try to help sure. I am glad he was successful in his choice. But this is what they warn you about in every class I have ever taken. I would never shoot a purse snatcher they where never a danger to anyone. Maybe tackle them but that's about it, and in this situation it was not a option. Just my 2 cents, I am sure others will see things that I am missing.

I agree. There needs to be a clear threat of physical harm.
All sorts of scenarios could play out in a situation like this. If I tackle one of them, what will stop the other one from tromping Me into the ground ?????
I do`nt know, seems that the situation must have been handled just about right to Me, purse was returned, bad guys on the ground, cops arrived, unidentified man drives off, bad guys go to jail.
NOW, if a shot would have been fired and one of the perps was wounded or killed and they were unarmed ??????????? who knows how it could have gone for the man with the fire-arm.
