I just found this site and decided to become a member in order to get other members' opinions. I have owned an Armalite AR10 carbine and an AR10-T since around 2006. I have been reloading for my 10-T since I got it but have been shooting mil surplus out of my carbine. With the ammo issues of late, I started to reload for my carbine also. I have found SMK 168s to be the most accurate through both rifles. I use a Rockchucker for my 10-T for the most accuracy but recently fitted my Dillon 650 for .308 for my carbine.
Anyway, just wanted to say "hi" and may pick some of your brain's for ideas to increase accuracy.
I think I have the optimum charge but cannot figure out why as the barrel heats up, my group gets looser. The image needs to be rotated and the top left group is the first group shot. Some of the guys at my range say it may be my anticipation or loose screws or heat.
I did a left rotate, would that be correct ??? and also, would that be at 100yds ???
If that was at 100yds with iron sights, it does`nt look too bad.
Also, does Your rifle have a free float hand guard ???
Yeah, if all those were the case, however,I have a free floating handguard, Leupold 8.5 X 25 scope, and bench rest. Oh and 100 yards distance. Possibly a 5 mi cross wind from right to left. No real impact there though.
Any thoughts? Oh yeah my process.
Bullet weight research and tested as well various powders and charges. My selection was based on a 1 to 1.5 MOA and now just trying to tighten up the group with consistency.
