Want to try Accurate powder LT-32,in my 223 using 69/70 grain bullets.Any of you experts familiar with this powder?? Any loading data? What is this powder similar to? Thanks
A buddy of mine who is the best rifle reloader I know just started with some 32 and was pleasantly surprised with the accuracy. Here is what he sent me about it:
I shot 5 each of 21, 21.9 and 22.9 grains. With Winchester military cases. Winchester primer, and Hornady 52gr. HPBT match bullets. The OAL was 2.230”. I’ve got 10 more loaded to shoot tomorrow with 23.1 gr. of powder and 5 of those have Wolf small rifle magnum primers. All of the ones I shot the other day had smoked the cases some and only one had a very slightly flat primer, so I feel like the pressure is dropping before the bullet has left the barrel. Also those Winchester primers aren’t real hot so I believe the Wolf’s will get thing cooking a little faster. The only reason I used that bullet is I had a few of them I don’t think there will be much difference between a 52 and a 55 gr. bullet.
Hope this helps. I just ordered some from Widener's so I'm looking foward to working up some loads also.
Rifle-RRA 20"-SS bbl-PRED-MDL-69gr SMK-LT-32 Powder. Tested LT-32 powder from 18.7grs to 21.0 grs. No excessive pressure signs,minimum group wide range(19.8 to 20.1 good accuracy/100yds) Recoil pulse seemed soft to me,compared to Varget,842,BLC-2,RL15 and IMR 8208.Velocity-unknown.In my rifle.Cheers.
