Just found this site and happen to have an AR10 so I joined. I live in southern Colorado. My 10 is a RRA LAR-8 that I bought about 2 months ago. Glad to be here among others who share similar interests.

I have a RRA LAR8 also. A lot of my friends are jealous because people like us don't have to slap the left side of the reviver to send the bolt home
Everyone on this site is very knowledgeable and friendly.
Howdy folks!
Having just successfully completed an AR15 from parts, I now know a) how easy it can be to build one yourself, and b) .223 isn't quite worth my time! I sold the -15 to my formerly anti-gun boss and put the money into a completed AR10 lower from CMMP with the adjustable stock & buffering already installed. I plan on going with a lightweight 20" barrel but will have many questions on what brands of parts fit what other brands of parts. This looks to be a good place to start the project. Yes, I may have to sell off half a dozen Mausers and a few SxS Damascus-barreled shotguns to finance it all but I think it will be worth it.
ps- my knees still hurt from mistakenly selling my FAL at the first Kalifornia 'assault weapon' ban. Doh!!!
Thank you both. My first questions will be: will a DPMS pattern upper fit on my CMMP lower and will I have any problems using an Armalite take-off 20" barrel? Still looking...
