Am considering putting a Vortex Viper/Mildot scope on my 260 Rem/AR-10 rifle. My interests are using various 140g bullets and various suitable powders to achieve minimum grouping.I have a choice of 6.5x20x44mm scope OR a 6.5X20x50mm scope. Any helpful opinions out there??? TNX
Vortex makes some really good scopes for the money. 50mm is the most popular of the two, but you can sometimes run into cheekweld issues, depending on the mount/rings you use.
I'd also recommend you look at the MRAD reticle from Vortex as well. It's substenstions allow for more precise adjustments than regular Mil-dots.
Personally I like the smaller objectives. You can mount them lower for better cheek weld. Unless you are shooting in extreme low light !! Agree with the MRAD.. Give it a look.
