So i went far in the bad lands to zero the rifle the only way i know (with his military me style sheet) . Measured 82' set the target, first went iron sights layed down, BAM off by about a foot! ok 2 more, same thing, so then i move down to compensate and got one could see from where i was that it was a hit so i proccedded to shoot my next 3 (the ones on the pic) and then i miss 6 times in a row before it hit me this was not an m4 and my rounds are way different. Is there a way to zero the rifle using the same way? My rifle:)

Your rear sight should be stamped with "up-down" on the left hand side and "L" on the right hand side . The "L" stands for left . If you are aiming at the center of your target and your point of impact is 6 inches to the right , then move the rear sight in the direction the arrow that has an L next to it is pointing . Same with the up or down point of impact .

What should I do if my rear does not have a up and down? It only has a left or right. The front does go up and down, and I screwed it all the way down, but did not do a thing.

Something doesn't make sense, a couple pictures and I bet some of these pros will be able to fill you in. Is the front sight mounted to a railed gas block? I've heard of guys having the wrong front sight on the gas block and run out of adjustment.

This is the pic MaxPowers posted as a link. I've never seen a front sight quite like that. What is it?

Thats a new one for me. bet it isn't the right height for the AR-10. I know makers like MI have a specific front sight for the AR-10 so there must be a good reason.

got my email back from the DPMS guys:
The best way to zero a rifle is set a target at 25 yrds shoot 3 rounds make adjustment and bring out to 50 yrds do same and then go to 100 and make finle adjustments.
