Hi Grant,
I'm in the same boat. I had a chance to shoot an AR10 a few months ago, and now I own one. I bought an Armalite, still in the process of breaking it in.
Take Care.
Hello all:
Yea, I am just like you. I started out with the Winchester 94 then moved to the Model 70. Love both of those rifles and they served me well with more deer than I can count and some elk. BUT after a 20+ year Army career in the combat arms I have developed a comfort level with the AR platform that I never acheived with the bolt aciton. It just ain't there! So this year, as a leaving prison (divorce) present I bought an AR-10 (Armalite) to be my primary hunting rifle. I am retiring the model 70 and it will go to my son in a few years. At some point you just got to go with what you know and are the most comfortable with!
