Right now I just have a Remington 700 tactical .308. Was thinking about adding an AR type rifle to the collection. I have numerous other guns also but I don't shoot them much.
Welcome,
An AR10 rounds out a collection very well. Once obtained, they usually end up being the first one out of the safe when heading out to the range, hunting, whatever.
There is just that something about them... power and reach over an AR15/AK/etc... capacity over a bolt gun, and can be nearly as accurate.
I have a 700 SPS as well...in .308. I purchased the non tactical version because my intent was to make it my Whitetail rig. I picked up a Hogue stock for it...free floated the barrel...and had the action trued by my local gunsmith before I sent one round down range.
Gun is accurate, smooth, and reliable (also for sale).
Once I picked up the Armalite AR10T, I decided to cut the 700 loose and use the monies from the sale of the 700 to cover a carbine upper.
This is a great forum for the AR10...with great people.
We have some land here in Texas and we go out pretty frequently and shoot. I have silhouettes set out to 500 yards and that's alot of fun. I can hit the 500 yard one more regular with the .308 than I can my 22-250.
I don't shoot any deer. My kids do all that for me I just have to gut and skin. So sitting around the barn shooting and manning the BBQ pit is my main focus.
