I have a couple of questions about MI's folding sights
1. My AR10-AFFG front folding sight is not marked which direction to turn it to go for elevation. My rear MCTAR-ERS is marked which direction to turn for Right.
2. I watched a great video about these sights from a AR10T movie star and they were doing a basic sight in and mounted a Red Dot scope to aid in sighting. so my question is if you have a scope zeroed in and take it off then mount it back on to the same spot on the rail will it hold its zero?
I don't have the MI folding sight so I can't answer that part but I have had good results maintaining zero with my scope. I have the cheaper Burris PEPR QD scope mounts and once I got the the adjustment tension right I have never had a reason to re-zero my scope. I'm betting the ADM and LaRue quick detach mounts will give the same good results as should any good quality scope mounts with the more permanent screw fasteners.
To help me remember where to mount the bases I scratched the corresponding number from the rail on the underside of the mount. I don't think I've seen anything more than a 1/2 moa difference and that could have easily been my error and nothing to do with re-mounting the scope. :usa:
Thanks JT, the rail and stuff does feel like it is close tolerance but I was not sure.
that means I can zero in both of my scope and swap to what fits the occasion.
I have been looking for a place to break in my AR10T (cleaning after every round) and a lot of places I have talked to don't feel comfortable with it but today I found a indoor range that said I could do it no problem. I have bore sighted the iron sights and after tweaking them I will do the scopes outdoors
Sould turn clockwise to bring the rear aperture to the right.
Really depends on the mount you are using. The only one I will use on an AR is Larue. Rock solid, dependable return to zero, every time. My opinion, all other QD mounts are junk.

Hi...as MI's Rep, so to speak, on the site...I am curious as to your questions....
1. It should use the basic Physics...Right IN...Left Out...
then you go from there...Left Is UP..and Right is Down..
as for #2..
Not quite sure what you are asking on...the Sights or the Optic Mount....
If it is the sights...The are Back Up sights..that in-tales just that...
As for the Optic Mount...that will depend on the "Mount" and their claim to Fame for Return to Z...
There is a Big Difference sighting in your BUIS to a Red Dot as to trying it to a Scope...The Scope is not really Possible doing it like the Red Dot..and then it is a "Rough" Sight In...the rest is done Via the shooing range...
Hope It Helps...
Let me know if you have any other questions on the MI parts...

I'm Sorry....

ADM Rocks beyond that for Weapon and User Friendly...IMHO. :twothumbs:

Thanks, just wanted to make sure of direction as it is not marked and I would rather not waste ammo
As for #2 I thought you would have to reset zero if you took a scope off. So I could switch between a plain reticles scope and one with MilDot once they are zeroed , each would have to have their own mount of course. That is a good thing
