A 135 with what looks like five crew crashed today in Kyrgyzstan.
Have a lot of friends and former co-workers on these........
thoughts and prayers with the lost Crew and families.

Our prayers are with all the crewmen and there families. And what you said in a previous post about the Air Force needing new planes is right. The KC 135 should have been retired years ago.

It is a testament to hard working men and women that operate those planes that there are not more issues with these critical but aged tools.
So sad to loose Americas finest like this, hope the families get the help they deserve, the prayers are coming.

Got a few details from an old co-worker.
The aircraft may have been a 1963 model, could have been based fairly close to me. Details will be released in a few days, does not appear to be any survivors. Rarely are with a Tanker, his takeoff load would have been 20,000 to 30,000 gallons of fuel on board

The Tanker world is rather small,......there is a chance that I know one or more of the Crew. My wife is a Navigator on the 135, she knows more crew than I.

Words fail at times like this. Our prayers are with the whole tanker community.
