I'm sure that is part of it but preventing setback is also a key factor. I've seen the soft points on some rounds get mushroomed some from hitting the front of the magazine so there are some good forces involved, I'm not sure if it was recoil induced or just from the round above it dragging it forward when it cycles, only the top couple left in the mag showed this and only after firing a few rounds.
Everything I've read about reloading for AR's has told me crimp is critical compared to using a bolt gun.

I have some soft points loaded and have shot them without any problems, but,I have been shopping for and have a few boxes of the boat tail hollow points in the 150 weight range and I will be trying to keep from reloading anymore of the soft tips for the AR.I will however be loading those for the 1917 Enfield.LOL

I have purchased 2000 rounds in two separate orders. I can say they are all over the place with thier crimping. My AR 10NM eats them up with no hiccups and a easy clean up. My lot has always performed well for me. With that said, we all know things can deviate from lot to lot. Now I have just began to clean and prepping 200rds of this brass, and it looks very promising to me. The neck and body on the press went smoothly. I still need to trim and clean primer pockets. We shall see pretty soon how it holds up. Just my :twocents: and

Glad to know it's working good for you. I had always heard good stuff on their loads but then ran across a newer review.
2,000 rounds of good accurate ammo  , I'm jealous!

Yeah, it kind of sucks I'm selling a good bit of it :banghead: . I'm trying to finance my new reloading setup. I have acquired around 700 casing from this ammo that I'm working up now. I have completed break procedures on two different 308's with this ammo and now its time to get serious about my shooting . I will keep you guys filled in on the out comes of the reloads and how the brass holds up.

I would Sharkey. I really would, :dual: but you see I've been reading that you really shouldn't make ammunition for someone or yourself without proper load up procedures using the same gun in testing/and trials that you would be operating in the field. So you see, you sir you should send me your rifle for the most accurate, reliable, and of all thing safe ammo. So to sum it up, just send me your rifle. Its the only thing a responsible gun owner could do in this situation.
