Just saw this mag listed on ebay. They mention a button for using it as a sled, I'd never ran across this before. Don't need one myself so I thought I'd post a link incase a member was looking for one.
eBay item number:171582537889

I'm not sure what is happening. But there is a part of the site that allows for eBay links to be automatically parsed into a widget that shows the item and the current price and some description. Something must have changed that it does not work anymore.

I'll look into it.

Anyone care to explain its use?
I understand it's for single-shot, but what's the procedure for putting the weapon into battery?

I'm not about to try stuffing a round into a normal mag when it's inserted only to have the bolt take my fingers out.

If the sled allows for single shot, what makes it any different, or advantageous, to laying the round on the follower and manually controlling the closing of the bolt?
Does the sled allow for inserting a round into the magazine without the bolt closing?
What am I missing?

I was hoping someone could tell me! Being in the peoples republic of Massachusetts I don't have my mags to compare to the pictures...I'll be looking at it this coming weekend though.

Likewise. The bolt hold open wouldn't allow you to close the action on a single round without depressing the mag follower.

I don't get it.

I got this reply from the seller;

"A sled is a accessorie that is used to facilitate single fire in a semi auto that needs the clip in to lock the bolt back . this mag has a button which must be depressed to load more than one round . If the botton is depressed , after the second round it loads as a normal mag does . If you do not lock the button back with your finger you can only load one round into the mag ,neat huh?"

So all it does it prevent loading more than one round into the magazine unless a button is depressed?

I think I can handle that w/o a button.

I am curious tho'...what would inspire such a contraption in the first place? California? :D
