Have noticed inside the factory mags that came with the AR-10, that there is fairly substantial amount of grease or preservative. Should one leave that or do you clean and lube?

I usually clean it out and then lube it.

Yes... I recomend cleaning it also...

Like you already stated, it is a preservitive for long term storage, not for use.
