Lifetime members: Now that things have calmed down a bit, what is your read on this election? To be honest, I felt we were going to be hosed either way, just in a different manner. I certainly agree we needed to break the career, intellectual elite politician cycle, and Trump has done that. I just wish that we had an individual with more moral fiber and balance running the show. With either Trump or Hilary, I feel we are in for a tough time. I fervently hope I am wrong and that Trump surprises me. What is everyone else's read?

I'm not convinced he is going to break that political elite system. They like to trumpet Bannon as an outsider but he was a managing partner at Goldman Sachs, not exactly an outsider organization. His good words for Ryan are another warning sign things may not change much. I do feel less need to rush my ammo and weapon purchases though so there is a positive for now......

Just don't postpone them too long.

I have always suspected that Trump would eventually run, just thought it would have been 5-10 years ago and as a democrat. Funny how things change. Trump wants change , if he does just 20percent of what he has outlined for his first 100days I will consider it a total success. Term limits are a big thing, it takes just 6 years for a senator to become out of touch with his constituents. There have been a few that have stayed the course( damn few).

The fact that he is the first President since Ronald Reagan that did not attend Yale or Harvard gives me some hope. A lot of what he is saying I agree with and he is backtracking a little bit on his most radical claims. And we have to start breaking the lock on Washington somewhere. I guess I am getting cautiously optimistic. We will know in a year.
