Came today. AR10T 16" Carbine. Have an open slate and open mind as to optics, etc. thinking of LaRue quick release mount. Nikon BDC M-308 BDC scope, with a Lucid red dot as an alternative. Any thoughts?

Now that I have had a chance to look it over, here are my first impressions. One, the National Match trigger is awesome! I will be retrofitting one to my AR10A4. Two it is lighter than my AR10A4, three tenths of a pound to be exact. With an empty magazine, it balances better, haven't put a full one on it yet. Came from CDNN with a Harris type bipod from Winchester, a padded sling, and 30 mm mounting rings, all at N/C.A better picture is below. The true tale will be after I break it in and get some good optics on it. Right now I put an old Sightron on it.

I put Larue quick release (LT104) on my AR10's and love them. I use the quick release so I can switch to open sites or throw on a night vision scope if I want. The Larue mounts definitely hold their zero when switching back and forth. I have the same carbine you just bought and it instantly became my favorite rifle. I don't even care to get the others out of the safe.
I broke one in the other day: 40 rds down the pipe. Shoot 5 slowly, check for bbl temp using fleshly part of hand, barely warm. Let rest to bring to ambient temp, swab, repeat.
WOW the bbl looked like a mirror at the end of the 40 rds.
I have the same gun. I love it. I found it really likes Nosler 168grn Ballistic Tip bullets. I load with varget and CFE223. Both powders shoot about the same accuracy out to 200 yds. You will be very happy with it, I am sure.

Beautiful gun, great trigger. Congrats!
Thanks guys for the comments. I really like what I see so far, unfortunately my schedule is going to keep me away from shooting it for a while. I figure by the first of June, I will have it broken in and a handload tailored for it. My son doesn't know it yet, but my AR10A4 is going to be Santa's gift next year! Biggest difference I see so far between the two is much better balance with the AR10T, plus of course that beautiful trigger!
