I have a few gun parts I would like refinished. Parkerizing seems to be the best finish. Anyone out there have any ideas about where or who to contact to get this done. Or is there any other finish that may be better?
It depends on the part. I'd also look at nitrocarburization (nitriding). Several different manufacturers use this process on everything from barrels to slides. It goes by several different names, such as melonite and tennifer.
LebbenB is right. I have a firearm with a Nitron finish over stainless steel, and it is practically indestructible. As long as you lube the slide, nothing is going to affect it.
