Anyone run into any factory ammo that will not cycle the action in AR or auto rifles? :S

Not yet. But the 150gr Nosler-tip Remington ammo shoots like a shotgun pattern from my AR-10.

One thing I found with my AR-10 is that it likes to be very wet. I use handgun slide grease on the sides of the BCG and I squirt all the moving parts down with rem oil then wipe it with a rag to suck up the excess.

150gr Nosler-tip Remington ammo Don't think it was there fault you know what the weather has been like here in NE -deg for I don't know how long now. Did not clean rifle before I went to the range and I'm thinking it was just a little stickey from sitting around, gave here a good cleaning and lube job, she's running fine with the same ammo now. I should also add my patterns look like they came from a shotgun. I need to get back to doing my own reloads B)

Everyone probably will have different answers because every weapon is different, but for breaking in, what ammo and grain did you use. Once broken in, what ammo and grain is your go to now. I'm buying myself an A10TBNF for Christmas, hence the barrel is 20" Stainless steel, triple lap etc. etc.

Thank You!

I have never had any failures with my AR10's on any ammo. And that includes 1970's Indian Army surplus M80! Most accurate is 168 grain BTHP molybendeum coated. But it is a mess to clean out of your rifle.

Many of the 147gr ammo selections have been an issue for me in the past.

Based on what Armalite recommeds that would make sense. They recommend a 168 gr projectile for the standard AR10 1 in 11.25 in twist.

That it does.....but many fail to read the manual and try the 147r with poor results

Never have understood why but I get some pretty good results with FN M80 ball and XM80. Fiocchi match 175 gr. gives me horrible groups while 7.62 FGMM with the exact same bullet can give me 1 MOA. Fickle mistress that AR-10 can be!
