I believe there was an exploit in the 'who is online' that let the hack in. I'm sure martin is on top of it.

It'll probably stay gone until they find a way to make it more secure. That was the "way in" the hackers used.

If you want to see who's online, just look at the bottom of the page. It's always been there and still is - just by name - no avatars. Still works the same way it always has though... :blink:

Unless they have opted out, then they are hidden. I noticed there were differences between the two in the past.

We have done some thorough research and discovered the Frenchman doing the hacking is wearing a Speedo in one of Sharkey's pictures, and is trying to disable the site to prevent his identity from being discovered.

The "Members Online" module was the vulnerability that was allowing the hacker to upload files to the site. He was able to 'post' a file to the module and get it to upload to the site. Then he would run the file he had created that was creating all these other files.

They were also using the server to bounce SPAM emails off of.

I think we finally have the server a little more secure.
