Would I have to change the gas block on my upper to put a extened gas block on the upper you did for me ? How much would it run ? I dont think it looks bad at all with the extended gas tube might be worth the longer range and velocity ?
Nitetrain on the 308 your only looking at about 60fps so look 60 feet in frount of you as an example of the gain. Your fine where you are at. There needs to be a calaber change to take advantage of the extended gas systems. You get a little on the 308 and a lot on a 243.MSH
Wow - talk about bringing back an old thread. I see my posts from 6+ years ago. Regarding a 358 Winchester barrel. I know guy have discussed this topic occasionally on ar15.com, Also here is a link to a discussion on this topic from 24hourcampfire. Good luck finding your barrel.
I know the X-Caliber guys were bandied about here a while back, but I will tell you I have 3 barrels all of which are top tier, they are the old Montana Riflemen guys, and they make a great product!
My X-Caliber barrel was a good barrel they just blew the port size. On an odd caliber like the .358 I think I would want them to undersize it like mine so you could drill to fit or maybe have them go big and get a good adjustable gas block like the SLR.

There has been a glitch there for some time, shows my avatar when I look at it on my end, assume it just mirrors whomever is signed in and looking at it. He does have some good info in those old posts though
