Who has used them? Are they worth the trouble? Where to purchase?

I replaced my gas block with a Syrac Ordnance genII. It made a drastic change in the rifle cycling and helped with felt recoil.

See link below for gas block.

I bought the JP Enterprise version and it allows me to adjust recoil gas based on the loads I'm shooting..

I have the ArmaLite quad rail handguard. This should not be an issue correct?

No, not at all.

Free floating hand guards attached to the upper receiver completely independent of the barrel.

Biggest thing is to adjust the block right. Screw it closed. open one turn. single shoot until the bolt locks back turning 1/4 turn at a time. locktite the screw. You may have to change the setting if you radically change the load but it wont be much. If you went with JP's bolt carrier and buffer, felt recoil is almost non-existent.

Why don't all the Armalites come standard with an adjustable gas block? Especially the AR-10Ts. Can't cost them but a few pennies to make the adjustable gas block and pass the minor cost increase on to the customers. Now only the SASS has an adjustable gas block. Just doesn't make sense to me.
