1.) On the ArmaLite site the TNF is only listed under the 10B section-does that mean it only can use the ArmaLite mags? Yes, only Armalite Mags

2.) I will mount a scope on the rifle-is it worth while to order the ArmaLite scope mount at the time of ordering the rifle? The Armalite 1-piece mount is nice but I wanted something a little higher. If you like the height it is a great mount.


3.) Is it advisable to order the spring kit right off the bat, as well? Sorry, I can't help you there ... but 1,000 rounds in I've not had one problem

I have looked at scope mount long and hard for some time now. I have tried many brands. So now I will tell you why I went with Armalite.

1: STEEL, not Aluminum. Now this means the product is heaver but STRONGER.
2: Workmanship and Quality is great. Great coating and good mill work.
3: Repeatable performance. I have a process when it comes to scope mounting and it starts with the base. I lap the rings,center and profile the base, and TQ everything w/Thread lock. Now as a test I did nothing to my first base but mount and zero. Now the scope was set to 0 and 0. 13 mills left and 10 mills up for elevation and zero. I then performed my normal scope mounting procedure. With the scope placed back at 0 and 0 my adjustments were 0 for elevation and 5 mill Left for windage. To me that's a heck of a lot of improvement for a little bit of TLC.

I use the mount and optics on my AR10NM and transfer both over to my Rem700 with only 6 Mill Left Windage adjustment. With a .25" of deviation from transfer to transfer, I am very satisfied!

If there is one spare part I recommend ordering right off the bat, it's the bolt catch. It's small, complex angles, and usually MIM. It's the one part that has a breakage history in the AR platform and the biggest pain to replace.



That gives me an idea...

I would suggest rings, vs a one piece mount.
Nearly any one piece mount is going to be very high.

Medium rings up to 50mm bell

All the magazines are listed in the magazine section of their web site.

A lot of them are on backorder right now. But you can call or email in to place an order and have it ship as soon as it becomes available.

On the issue of a One Piece mount being to high: The Armalite Med 30 mill Mount sits so low I can't attach backup sights :censored: and trust me I've looked. I guess that's a down fall to the mount, but its a lot easier to me to swap a single mount than a set of rings. :twocents:
