Made contact with a local business that had an AR10T in stock. $1900 plus tax here in TN. Would push the price up to around $2100. I'm having thoughts of buying an A4 model and building a target upper for it. From what I've seen on the net, a used A4 model will run $900 to $1100, and by the time I put all the custom items on the Target upper that I want, I'll have well over 2K in it. I've read the Noveske barrels are really good, what others should be considered for the AR10? I've started gathering pricing on the goodies, Magpul stock is on my list. Not sure what forearm I'll use, the standard Armalite tube is just not sexy enough. May not make a difference in the way it groups, but I like a rifle to shoot well and look good.
You can mount a rail or two to the stock tube with a few small screws and epoxy. There
is so many square inches of surface area that it will never budge. As far as a barrel, don't
get sucked into a button rifled barrel, they are more accurate but the lifespan is pathetic,
with a high speed round you see degradation in as little as 400 rounds. A polygonal barrel
is what I would research. As good accuracy as a cut rifled and HK's are seeing 100,000
rounds through some calibers. I think pac nor offered them a few years ago and still might.
LOL. David
