I bought an extra heavy buffer from a member on another forum that went a different direction with his rifle. He didn't use it much at all so it looked shiny new. It came from Slash at Heavy Buffers;

It weighs 10 oz. which is almost twice the factory 5.4oz . It functioned fine with M80 ball, Pakistani surplus, and 175gr. FGMM. Recoil has never bothered me much but I can say this buffer made a noticeable difference when it came to keeping the target in the scope and getting faster follow up shots.
Wishing I had bought one long ago! :twothumbs:
Yep, the the spring and buffer came together. From what the website says the spring is an Armalite. I might just have to put the carbine version in my Matrix build, not sure on that one as I drilled the gas port myself so I know the next size down gas port was not quite enough gas to be reliable with everything.

Planning on the same block for the lightweight AR-15 build I'm starting. The Lightweight carrier maker, d. wilson, suggested an adjustable gas block to get the full advantage.
I find it interesting that going lightweight is touted with some of the same advantages as the heavy buffer, guess it's all a big balancing act.
